Fights by Joel Christian Gill acted as the anchor to ENG 325, serving as the capstone text in an already packed course. It united so many of the personal, difficult, reward, and critical conversations my students led throughout the semester. Only one student — Cameryn Cass — managed to create sketchnote reviews of Fights as we were primarily focused on rough drafts of final projects by Week 14, but Cameryn’s notes manage the nigh-impossible task of capturing the experiences of engaging with Fights.
